The Kintarla Vineyard is situated 6 kilometres North-East of Rothbury in the Hunter Valley region of NSW, Australia. The property lies at an altitude of 110 - 200 metres above sea level and has a summer dominant rainfall of 770mm annually. The property is 40 hectares (100 acres) in size and was established in June 2000. A Soil Survey was completed in July 2001 and based on this we planted out just over 2.0 ha (5 acres) of vines in April 2004. There are 116 rows and the total row length is over 7km’s. We have planted Shiraz, Verdehlo and Semillon.

Our first Shiraz vintage was in February 2009. This wine was matured for a year in six French oak barriques. Each barrique holds 225 Litres which corresponds to about 1800 bottles in total. The first Verdelho vintage was January 2010 and we are hoping to get a Semillon crop sometime this century.
